Petition · past parliament

Put Enoch Powell on the £50 note.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

There's been much debate over who should be on the new fifty pound note.
I believe that now, more than ever, we need to remember our history and one of the most influential politicians.
With the rise of immigration across Europe, it would be wise to put his face on the fifty pound note.
Never forget history, learn from those that past and we'll build a better future.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Bank notes are the responsibility of the Bank of England, which is independent of the Government and Parliament.
