What the petition asks
We must act immediately to take the housing element of Universal Credit and put it back to the totally seperate housing benefit! Many British people are now becoming homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless due to not physically being able to work or being mentally capable og holding down a job.
This is a serious issue that MUST be addressed immediately! Many lives are being put at risk as sanctions and benefit non payments are stopping people keeping a roof over the heads of themselves and their families! The cost of living, rent, council tax, and travel has raised so much now that a person going to a minimum wage job can nolonger even pay their bills and rent let alone get to work and feed their whole families. We need housing benefit back, we cannot let homelessness become forced!
