Sack Gary Lineker for breaking BBC guidelines
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
Gary Lineker is a squeaky clean ex footballer who works for the BBC. Therefore he should not be in a position to spout his political preferences. He is paid by the people handsomely for this work
He has amassed a 30million pond fortune from the tax payer and is now telling us how to vote and is also using his position to get a 2nd referendum
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The BBC is an independent body governed by a Royal Charter. Under the terms of that Charter, the BBC is operationally and editorially independent of government and there is no provision for the government to intervene in the BBC’s day-to-day operations.
