What the petition asks
Over the last couple of years there has been a lot of focus on issues affecting women and girls. This is good because when issues are openly discussed attitudes can be changed and solutions found.
There are also many issues facing men and boys which do not often receive the attention they deserve.
There are also many issues facing men and boys which do not often receive the attention they deserve.
Compared to women, men are:
Over three times more likely to take their own lives
Over six times more likely to be sleeping rough
Three times more likely to be homeless
Too many young men and boys are losing their lives to knife crime.
There is a lack of male primary school teachers to act as positive role models for boys - one in four primaries has not a single male teacher.
A screening programme for prostate cancer is long overdue.
The government’s current approach to all this is failing.
