Relieve John Bercow of his duties as Speaker of the House of Commons
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
Today, Weds 9th January 2019, John Bercow, the speaker of the House of Commons broke with impartiality of the role to endorse and allow an amendment by Dominic Grieve MP in the Brexit debate. He is therefore no longer fit to occupy the role.
Why it was rejected
It was about honours or appointments, which petitions cannot cover.
The resignation of an MP, including the Speaker, would be an individual decision for that person, and not a decision for the Government or Parliament as a whole.
