Support full time healthcare students with their finances whilst doing shifts!

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

Most students midwives/nurses require to do 12.5hour day/night shifts; 37.5hours a week. A fair wage would help cover living costs & provide support during studies. This explains the high drop out rate. Most time is committed to completing the degree= loss of socialising & chances to work alongside.
The students who started their degree in September 2017 no longer receive a bursary, requiring a loan to be taken out. Travel may take up to 2hours to get to placement & to then complete these hours while studying for exams, essays.. try to continue socialising & work alongside. Midwives&nurses are being called out for-this explains why. Trainee nurse associates are being paid yet these students don’t?
