Make it a mandatory minimum age of 18 to join all social media platforms.

What the petition asks

Children under the age of 18 are exposed to adult content, videos of violence and sexual content on social media sites, some that have age requirements of 13 years to join.
This is damaging to society.
Social media is being used as a tool to promote gang culture, knife crime and robbery and being openly available to view on apps like Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram. Young girls are exposed to sexual content and images that are digitally altered, which has a huge effect on mental health. 18 years old should be a minimum age to engage on these platforms.
