To reform the PIP assessment process for people affected by mental illness

Closed 6,727 signatures

What the petition asks

The PIP assessment process is inadequate & aimed primarily at people with physical illness.

There should be two forms one for physical illness & one for mental illness

All assessors & DWP decision-makers to be appropriately trained in mental health to understand the impact on the assessed.
I run an art group for all those severely affected by mental illness. I watch many members of my group experience all sorts of anxieties before, during and after their PIP assessments.
I have developed the following solutions in consultation with the charity Rethink Mental Illness.
Time and time again, my group members and thousands of others, wait for long periods before receiving their results, often to be told they have been awarded nil points.
