Make food company’s guarantee products are free from allergens
Rejected

What the petition asks
People who suffer from allergies should not have to ‘take a risk’ when eating foods which say they “may contain nuts” etc. Those who have allergies and avoid foods which declare a risk of allergens are becoming more limited to what they can eat due to company’s not guaranteeing their food is safe.
More and more company’s are choosing to put “may contain...” on their packaging instead of increasing food hygiene and preventing cross-contamination. Everday foods such as bread, noodles, cereals, crisps can all be seen declaring they “may contain nuts” when clearly these foods should not.
