Debate the nationalization of banks, overseen and driven forward by Government

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Some banks were nationalized as part of the financial crisis a decade ago. Many customers with mortgages were subsequently trapped on high interest, variable rate mortgages. Many lost homes and many managed to continue to pay rates far above all other high street lenders despite the low base rate
BBC panorama considered the impact on thousands of families.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We understand you are concerned about the impact of the nationalisation of the banks but we are unsure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.

You could start a new petition calling for a pubic inquiry into the nationalisation of the banks if that is something you would like to see happen.
