To get all councils to open empty buildings for the homeless to use
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
There are a lot of council buildings standing empty just wasting good space that could be used to provide a safe and warm place for all the thousands of homeless people. Homeless people are dying on our streets when all these buildings are standing empty. This should not be happening.
In the long run this will reduce costs for the taxpayer. However we should do this on humanitarian grounds alone.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because if the building is owned by the council this would be the responsibility of the council and not the UK Government or Parliament.
