What the petition asks
Unfortunately many people of the online dating communitys get catfished, attacked or victims of rape.
I believe that online dating platforms such as POF, Badoo & Grindr changes the way to register forcing members to confirm valid ID before completing the account sign up.

In 2018 alone more than 10,000 people worldwide was victims of assault, rape or having their identitys stolen.
Changing the way online dating confirms who you are would help prevent such tragic behaviour.

Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because this would be the responsibility of online dating platforms and not the UK Government or Parliament.
You could start a new petition calling for a change in the law to require online dating services to ask for proof of ID if that is something you would like to see happen.
