Campaign for a Basic Income Guarantee

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

Anyone who falls below the poverty line, employed or not, is lifted back to security. Protection against poverty would be a right, not a privilege. Meanwhile, working would always pay off, because above the poverty line, basic income would be stepped down incrementally, instead of cut off.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We understand you are in favour of a basic income guarantee but we are unsure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.

You could start a new petition calling on the UK Government or Parliament to adopt a basic income guarantee if that's something you would like to see happen.
