What the petition asks
Give them points or worse if a death occurs. Emergency vehicles are there to save lives yet some people see them as being in the way.
A 90 year old man died yet the 2 ambulances sent to treat him where blockaded for 3 hours. Because of a husband and wife who didn't like them going on a private road. When asked to move they gave the crews abuse. Police came and no charges given. That is 2 crews unable to help anyone in need for 3hours. When crews are short.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We can't accept your petition because it's already a criminal offence to obstruct emergency workers under the Emergency Workers (Obstruction) Act 2006. We are therefore unsure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.
The decision on whether to arrest or prosecute someone under this Act would be a decision for the police and Crown Prosecution Service and not the UK Government or Parliament.
