What the petition asks
In this day of Instant recognition and mediocre celebrity it is inconceivable that all the players of the1966 World Cup winners have not been Knighted.
Of the original team, Bobby Moore, Gordon Banks and Ray Wilson have died. Bobby Charlton was knighted in 1994 and Geoff Hurst in 1998. This leaves Jackie Charlton, George Cohen, Nobby Stiles, Martin Peters and Roger Hunt.
