By-elections when an MP leaves their party

What the petition asks

When one or more MPs leave their party to form a new political group, this should trigger a by-election.

This will prevent MPs from representing the political interests of a party which differs from the manifesto they were elected under and ensures constituents are represented in the commons

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
