What the petition asks
Mps who resign from their party should be forced to resign their position in parliament. They have used their parties name, logo, canvassers and funds to gain the seat so it should be taken away pending local election results.
Mps who have used their parties name, logo, canvassers and funds should not be allowed to keep their seat in parliament if they resign from their party.
If they want that seat after the resignation they should be made to campaign for it in local elections and give us the people the choice of keeping or replacing them.
When they were elected they were elected because of the party they were part of, so it's only fair to give the people a chance to have their say as they chose to resign.
