Petition · past parliament

Give the people the ability to force a bye-election if their MP changes party.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

MP's have left the party that they were representing when elected, and have used their Parliamentary privilege to stand against the manifesto's of their parties. This behaviour is fraudulent to the electorate.
We need to be able to hold our politicians to account.
Its a disgrace that MP's, once elected are free to do as they wish for the next 5 years. Under the current rules someone could be elected as a libereral then change their allegiance to the BNP on the next day.
