What the petition asks
MPs are elected to Represent the people who voted for them. Ballot papers show what party and thereby the Manifesto they are standing for. When an MP changes party or fails to honour that Manifesto they no longer represent the people who elected them.
The existing Power of Recall should be extended to cover the circumstances outlined.
This petition has been triggered by the recent defections of both Labour and Conservative and Unionist Members of Parliament.
