Compulsory Byelections if sitting MPs resign from their party
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
We the undersigned think that a byelection should automatically be triggered in any constituency where a sitting MP resigns from their party.
To continue in place after abandoning the manifesto on which they were elected is both undemocratic and an insult to the voters who elected them, even more so if they then propose to support another political party in their parliamentary voting.
