Delay RSE at schools for young children until they reach Key Stage 2.

Rejected 20 signatures

What the petition asks

It is unnecessary to teach RSE to children in Early years & Key Stage 1, who do not understand adult relationships.
We are not homophobic or asking schools to teach our religious beliefs. We would to preserve their innocence & like all RSE materials to be delayed until a suitable age (Key Stage 2).
We fear Sexualising children at a very young age could result in more children abusing and experimenting on other young children.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

There are no proposals to teach sex education to primary school pupils, so we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

There are proposals to require primary schools to teach children about relationships. The Government have said:

"Under the updated guidance, teachers will talk to primary school pupils in an age appropriate way about the features of healthy friendships, family relationships and other relationships they are likely to encounter."
