Require a routine blood test during pregnancy for ParvovirusB19

What the petition asks
ParvovirusB19 affects between 2500 and 5000 pregnancies each year in the EU. The disease is easily diagnosed and advances in the treatment can increase the chance of foetal survival. Currently blood tests are not routinely checked for this disease.
We are petitioning as we lost our little girl Sophie to parvovirus B19, we would like to prevent further families from going through this atrocious ordeal. All it takes is a simple check on blood test during pregnancy and the risk could be reversed if an infection has occurred or been diagnosed early enough.
