Mobilise the British army with the same powers as the police.

What the petition asks

Knife crime is becoming out of control. It is uncontrollable and we need to stop it. Innocent people are losing their lives. Needless violence needs to stop.

We need to do more to people carrying knives. If they carry a knife they are intending to use it to kill.
Just look at the news everyday. Innocent children being killed. Needless stabbings. Everyday there is a stabbing.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We can't accept your petition because we aren't sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take. We aren't sure what you role you would like the army to take on. In any case, calling for assistance from the armed forces would be an operational decision for the police.

The Petitions Committee has arranged a debate on a petition about knife crime for 25 March. You can watch that debate here:

People found with a knife to get 10 years and using a knife 25 years in prison.
