Remove Autism and ADHD from the list of DVLA compulsory notifiable conditions.

What the petition asks
The DVLA are asking Neurodivergent individuals to notify them of their diagnosis without any explanation or reason why. If we have already passed our driving test, there is no reason why this is necessary.
There are no studies suggesting that neurodiverse drivers are any less competent than neurotypical driver. This is a huge amount of time, energy and resources wasted for no apparent reason at all. We are concerned about the lack of understanding of our neurodiversity or consultation with our community.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We can't accept your petition because the DVLA has since clarified that there is only a need to inform them of adhd and autism if it impacts the ability to drive.
You can find the revised guidance here:

You could start a new petition to remove the requirement to notify the DVLA entirely if that is something you would like to see happen.
