Criminal charges for Grenfell to be concidered before 2021
Rejected
17 signatures
What the petition asks
72 people were killed as a result of the fire in June 2017. Since then there has been a lack of official progress and prosecutions won’t be concidred until 2021. These victims need justice, and prosecutions should begin earlier
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can only accept petitions which call for actions which are the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament. It's not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament to decide when or whether criminal charges should be brought. This would be the decision of the police and Crown Prosecution Service.
