Ban airlines from using plastic to wrap blankets, headphones and cutlery

Closed 236 signatures

What the petition asks

Spend a night in a fancy 5-star hotel and you wouldn't expect plastic-wrapped bedding, so why in the sky?

Plastic is everywhere. It's a vital part of our lives and this won't change overnight.

So let's start with the easy steps - why are millions of blankets on planes wrapped in the stuff?
This may sound like a tiny issue, but with over 4.5 BILLION passengers expected to fly this year it would make a huge difference.

An average passenger can create over 1kg of waste per flight, so why add to this with completely unnecessary plastic.

The cups and cutlery are an obvious target and should be swapped for paper/metal alternatives, but at least they serve a purpose.

The blanket and headphone wrapping does not. Let's regulate against the use of pointless plastic wrapping on planes.
