Devolve Air Passenger Duty to the Welsh Government

Closed 91 signatures

What the petition asks

Air Passenger Duty is devolved to England and Scotland so allowing them to set their own taxes. The Uk Treasury refuses to devolve this tax to Wales as it would affect Bristol airport.Cardiff Airport needs to be placed on an equal footing with Bristol and other English Airports
“The Uk Treasury has said it does not intend to devolve Air Passenger Duty to Wales as it could mean more passengers flying from Cardiff than Bristol. This would give Cardiff a competitive edge “
Bristol Airport CEO states that a million more passengers could fly from Wales if the tax was lower and air fares were more competitive.
This puts Bristol airport at an unfair advantage
