Direct all payroll companies to refund all deductions made on staff salaries

Rejected 13 signatures

What the petition asks

Some Umbrella Companies make deductions called Company Margin or Admin fee on staff gross income. These costs are not to be deducted from staff salaries. The contracting companies should pay for the services rendered to them by the Umbrella Companies. It is their obligation and not the staff's.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

There are already guidelines as to when an employer can make deductions from pay. We're not sure exactly what further action you'd like the Government or Parliament to take.

You can find out more about the guidelines here:

https://www.gov.uk/understanding-your-pay/deductions-from-your-pay

You could start a new petition asking for a specific change to these guidelines, if that's something you'd like to see happen.
