If we fail to leave the European Union then we must abolish Parliament

Rejected 20 signatures

What the petition asks

If we fail to leave the European Union, including the single market and customs union, 2 years after triggering Article 50 and we remain under the jurisdiction of European Union law then Parliament must be formally abolished and all its governing and administrative functions transferred to the EU
If our Members of Parliament have already decided that it is our country's inevitable political and economic destiny to be ruled by the “higher authority” of the laws drafted by the European Union then so be it. If we do not leave the European Union 2 years after triggering Article 50 then Parliament will be little more than a glorified parish council so let us do away with the pretense and the expense by abolishing parliament altogether.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because this wouldn't be a decision for the UK Government or Parliament alone.

If you would like the UK Government to negotiate with the European Union to transfer responsibilities to the EU in order to abolish Parliament then you could start a new petition setting out clearly which responsibilities you would like transferred.
