Fix Brexit Deadlock

Rejected 14 signatures

What the petition asks

The way out of this mess.
The way forward!
1. Revoke Article 50 before 29th March.
2. Re-issue Article 50 on 1st April.
3. Tell the EU we will honour the withdrawal agreement negotiated, without any need for the backstop.
4. We then have 2 years to negotiate a trade deal without all the bargaining power in the hands of the EU.
5. Then, and only then, do we leave the EU without a deal in 2 years time.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We can't accept your petition because we aren't sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.

If the UK withdraws Article 50 then it will remain a full member of the European Union, including during any further Article 50 period. No Withdrawal Agreement would apply and the existing rules about negotiating trade agreements would remain in place.

We're therefore unsure your petition would achieve what you would like it to.
