Forward your proposed "2020 LGBT+ Education Program" to the 2019 Academic Year.

What the petition asks

Parents in Birmingham have pulled hundreds of their children out in protest against LGBT+ Classes.
Furthermore they have now had the Classes "indefinitely suspended" which only highlights their blatant Bigotry/Ignorance. It has to stop!
In 2019 we celebrated 50 years since the Stonewall Riots.
Now we are an established Community with a varied & rich History that can be taught to children at the Secondary School Level so they are learning about a powerful movement.
That movement is once again under threat from narrow-minded parents who need to clearly learn about this brilliant & wonderfully diverse community of LGBT+ Citizens just as much as their children.
Let's bring forward the Education Program to 2019 & learn together!

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We can't accept your petition because we aren't sure what action you would like the UK Government and Parliament to take.

We aren't sure what you mean by "2020 LGBT+ Education Programme".

The Government is intending to introduce compulsory relationships and sex education into schools in 2020. You can find out more here:

https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/social-policy/education/relationships-and-sex-education-in-schools-whats-changing/

You could start a new petition calling for this to be compulsory from September 2019 if that is something you would like to see happen.
