What the petition asks
Voter turnout is regularly reduced because of the feeling of disconnect between the public and those that claim to represent us. Rather than spoil a ballot paper the public should be given the option to show there frustration and have it formally recognised by Government
Turnout at the 2017 General Election was 68.8%
As we already know, at the referendum Leave won 51.89 per cent of the vote and Remain won 48.11 per cent. The Electoral Commission reports that the overall turnout was 72.21 percent. MP's will no longer be able to falsely claim they represent constituent majorities if NOTA option becomes available.
