What the petition asks
Stop Councils being able to sell designated public open green space to developers. I am a resident in Liverpool 8, our Council is wanting to sell of the famous 'Flat Iron' to a local property developer along with two other sites, Head street and Gore/ Harrington Street.
We as a community are opposing any plans for 1. The sale of the 'Flat Iron' and 2. Anything other than affordable housing to be built on the other 2 sites. In the Councils draft local plans the 'Flat Iron' is designated public open green space and in the local plans the other 2 sites have plans for 94 houses to be built across the 2 sites. The 'Flat Iron' should NOT BE SOLD!! Our community NEEDS affordable HOUSES not apartment blocks. Stop property developers ruining OUR COMMUNITIES!!
