What the petition asks
There aren't enough appropriate step down supported facilities for those classified as having 'Severe and Enduring Eating Disorders' (SEED), nor supportive care in the community. Those aged 25+ can be desperately ill due to the failures of the ED systems when they were 1st diagnosed 18m wait.
Those who were failed at the time of their first diagnosis of ED, waiting 18m for 1st appointment - the time for recovery at an early stage gone, are now still being failed by the systems as they are focused on those under 25.
There are a vast number of people 25+ who are stuck in the revolving door of ED treatment. This is deeply dangerous, 1in 5 die as a result of ED.
There needs to be NOW supported living facilities where these people can be supported at whatever weight.
