What the petition asks
On Thursday 23 June, 2016, the British people were asked the question & decide the UK should leave the European Union by 51.9% to 48.1%. The referendum turnout was a massive 71.8%, with more than 30 million people voting...With 17,410,74 voting to leave...
It is understood that there is another petition to revoke article 50, that now has over 4 million signatures, Yet there were 16,141,241 who voted remain in the referendum & it was not enough..
Whatever our views now or then, the will of the British people needs to be upheld, or our democracy is a sham...
If article 50 is revoked, I envisage the uproar of the British people would make the Pol Tax riots look like a storm in a teacup...

Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
We have received a large number of petitions in support of leaving the EU, which are very similar to petitions that are already open. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one asking for the same thing. You are more likely to get action if you sign and share a single petition.
