What the petition asks
We want government petitions to accurately represent the people of the UK. This petition format is susceptible to abuse and has a history of it. Due to the unverifiable anonymous nature, steps must be taken to avoid abuse from foreign sources, from bots, from those signing multiple times, etc.

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. At the moment, it's open to people who don't have National Insurance numbers (eg. people who are under 16) to sign petitions.
If you'd like the rules on petitions to change, so that only people with National Insurance numbers are eligible to sign petitions and need to provide their NI number to sign, you could start a new petition asking for that.
