What the petition asks
Students are put into detentions for doing something wrong. However they are not actually making a difference. Some students are even starting to collect detentions. A detention in school hours are enough and are making the same impact as out of school hours.
So why should we put students into further trouble when we can put them in less trouble and get the same result. Simple solutions are better than complicated solutions that give the same outcome.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
