What the petition asks
Brexit chaos has highlighted the fact that our political systems do not allow the electorate to feel properly represented. Until reform is made, people will not have the necessary confidence and trust in the democratic process and our Parliamentary Democracy will remain damaged as a result.
Suggested items for the terms of reference:
Substitution of First Past the Post for a new system
Review the process of the candidate selection, allowing for proportionate representation based on background & experience
Look at the life and hereditary peerage awards which seem paradoxical to a modern democracy.
If coalitions are formed, new codes of practice should be written to avoid conflicts of interest like cash for votes
Review outdated parliamentary procedures
Draft a written constitution
