Petition · past parliament
introduce a salary cap of £40000 per year for all MP’s until Brexit is sorted.

What the petition asks
MP’s continue year on year to get pay rise after pay rise whilst the rest of the country suffers to buy basic needs. They have done nothing to calm the fears of Brexit yet award themselves a pay rise. Obviously not target led bonuses! Until this mess is sorted out wages should be cut.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
