Enshrine settled and pre-settled EU citizens' rights in law
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
EU taxpayers have lived here under certain conditions for years. The EU Settlement Scheme, designed to preserve such conditions, has NO legal foundation. Enshrine it into primary legislation now! Verbal/written promises are worthless from a government who has failed to keep their word multiple times
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government has laid before Parliament changes to the immigration rules to implement the EU settled status scheme. This has the force of law. We are therefore unsure what further action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.
