What the petition asks

Rule out any option to stay in the EU including a second referendum, the people had their say in 2016 and voted to leave the European Union.

Any alternate option that involves remaining in the EU shows the lack of respect the government has towards the people who voted in 2016. A vote to remain wouldn’t see alternate options in the table like leaving the EU or a second referendum so it should be the same with the result from 2016. Leaving he EU should be a priority for the government and not looking at alternate options like revoking article 50.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

We have received a large number of petitions in support of leaving the EU, which are very similar to petitions that are already open. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one asking for the same thing. You are more likely to get action if you sign and share a single petition.
