Make voting compulsory.

What the petition asks
Politicians design policies to win people's votes. In the UK, policies are designed for the elderly, and the young lose out. Compulsory voting would change that. Also, it is ridiculous that an election should depend on the weather. Not voting would get a fine of say £10 or £20.
Arguments against compulsory voting:
"FREEDOM" Every law we pass denies some ancient freedom. We used to be allowed to smoke in pubs, now we can't. This argument is an objection to change of any kind.
"VOTING IS USELESS" Well, just spoil your ballot paper.
"IT WON'T WORK" It has been working for almost a century in Australia.
"YOUNG PEOPLE VOTED FOR CORBYN" The young folk who came out for Corbyn won't be young for long. Anyway we shouldn't rely on personalities for something so important.
