What the petition asks

It seems that the majority of our elected representatives feel that voting in a properly constituted ballot is less worthy of respect than a petition circulated on Facebook and other social media, proving that the country could save an absolute fortune by making all decisions via social media.

Numerous interviews with politicians, Facebook posts by politicians and the BBC all seem to believe that online petitions carry more weight that the result of properly constituted referenda. That being the case we should elect those individuals via their favoured means. Perhaps we could also decide the BBC budget via online petitions.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the UK Government or Parliament to do. In particular, we're not sure how elections could be held using petitions on social media.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you'd like to happen. For example, you could start a petition calling for online voting to be allowed in elections if that's what you'd like to happen.
