Make education on homelessness a statutory part of the secondary curriculum

Closed 253 signatures

What the petition asks

Attitudes towards homeless people and the issue of the homelessness in the UK needs to change. The royal wedding of 2018 highlighted how too many seek to avoid or ignore the plight of homeless people. Students need to be educated on causes, consequences, support available to gain a greater empathy.
To prevent homelessness in the UK in the long-term, how it is perceived by the wider population must change. From an early age, citizens should be encouraged to focus on the human stories, not just the statistics. This way we can encourage more 'active citizens' are created and homelessness is no longer a stain on this great nation.
