Petition · past parliament

Include an option to abstain on all UK ballot papers.

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

People are dissatisfied with the adequacy of both MPs and parliament, many find themselves in a position where they still want to vote but do not want to vote for any of the current options.
MPs have the right to abstain from a vote and still exercise their right to contribute formally to the vote. This right should be extended to the electorate in the form of an "abstain" box on the ballot paper.
