Petition · past parliament
Suspend the MP's pay rise on 1st April 19 until they make progress with Brexit.

What the petition asks
On April fools day the MP's are due to get a pay rise of £2089. That will be 1011 days since the referendum and they have failed to make any progress. No employer would reward failure with a pay rise so why should the tax payer? The pay rise should be suspended until Parliament agrees a plan.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
