Stop journalists misgendering people from the transgender community

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Journalists routinely deadname and misgender people from the transgender community.
The IPSO should be allowed to sanction a financial penalty when this occurs as it is breaching confidentiality and are also breaching the equality act.
Furthermore when this occurs it is discrimination against a minority group and further segregates a vulnerable minority group.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
