Introduce sanctions for MPs that jeer and shout in the House of Commons
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
There is no need for our politicians to jeer and heckle their colleagues in the House of Commons. It is childish, sets a bad example for how people should conduct themselves and cannot be conducive to making sound and rational decisions for the country. It is, quite frankly, embarrassing.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We can't accept your petition because there are already sanctions available to the Speaker and his deputies if MPs act in a disorderly way. These include being able to suspend MPs for a set period of time. We are therefore not sure what further action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.
