Allow British citizens living outside of the UK for more than 15 years, to vote.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

I am a British citizen, married to an Italian, living in Brussels. I do not have a right to vote in the UK despite this being my only nationality.
I left the UK at 22 to work in Vietnam for the British charity VSO. Then I worked for the British Council in Vietnam and China.
My husband, an EU official, and I have lived outside of the UK since 1996 so I cannot vote in the UK. The UK ignores the human right to vote for which our ancestors fought so hard, has been taken away from me because I am a British citizen who dared to follow the European dream and right of free movement.
