Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

UK Parliments/Lords representatives can be seen to be in receipt of monetary and / or other inducements resulting in voting in a biased and self beneficial manner. - Standard Procurement declaration of interests process to be introduced to determine vested or conflicts of interest.
If you examine the Lords many are in receipt of EU pensions - MPs and SNPs have worked in the EU and in both instances family members are directly involved in the EU

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We can't accept your petition because we aren't sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.

The House of Commons already has a Code of Conduct for MPs. MPs are already required to register and declare financial interests. If there is a conflict between their personal interest and the public interest, they must resolve it straightaway and in favour of the public interest. Complaints that a Member has breached the Code of Conduct are examined by the independent Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards.

You can find the Code of Conduct for the House of Commons here:

https://www.parliament.uk/mps-lords-and-offices/standards-and-financial-interests/parliamentary-commissioner-for-standards/code-of-conduct-and-rules-of-the-house/

You could start a new petition setting out clearly how you would like these rules changed. We can't accept petitions about the House of Lords because their rules are something the House of Commons or UK Government is not responsible for.
